In songwriting class, you will write your individual song with guidance and assistance from your master teachers. In addition, you will collaborate with the percussion class on your individual song and group song as part of The Jam Band, consisting of members of both the songwriting class and percussion class. The Jam Band will write together and perform a group jam on the night of We Jazz in camp. And to have a permanent memory of your songwriting experience, you will also record a studio and live version of your individual song. A live recording of The Jam Band and group song will also be made. Songwriters are encouraged to bring their instruments and accessories. Prior musical experience is not required.
